Bear! by Earleywine Bear! by Earleywine
This is a 24 x 30 Oil Painting - Original is sold, but I am selling limited edition signed and numbered prints. The edition is 500 prints, with 10 Artist Proofs. There is only 3 artist proofs remaining - numbers 8/10 9/10 and 10/10. If you are interested in a limited edition print, please note me.

Usually after acquiring or finding a source of food, a grizzly bear will cover it with debris...dirt, grass, brush...whatever is handy and then he will place himself within ear, eye, and most importantly nose distance of his covered cache. Generally he will be within several hundred yards and preferably uphill if the situation warrants. Uphill beingáto his advantageábecause during the day natural wind thermals almost alwaysárise ... straight to his nose. One of the worst situations an unwary hiker could stumble upon. This is the scenario I wanted to capture with my painting, with the viewer having the vantage point of a hiker. What happens next is entirely up to the bearů.....

Very beautiful painting, I like the way you made the hair of the bear, also the grass and the stones. Very realistic.
