They are really awesome animals! Last fall I visited Lamar Valley when the buffalo were in rut. There were massive herds, from up close to little dots in the horizon the valley was full of buffalo. And the males were bellowing and snorting at each other - the sound echoing up and down the valley. Sent shivers up my spine :). Almost a spiritual thing

Agree! It must be a wonderful sight, to see a herd of Buffaloes living wild, in Denmark we have some farms with American Buffaloes. The first time I saw them from the train, I didnīt believe my eyes. I had to visit this place. I have always had this big interest for Native Americanīs and when I hang up a dreamcatcher at full moon, and forgot it when I got to sleep, I had the most living and spiritual dream i have ever got.
In my dream I was suddenly laying in high grass looking around. First I saw a herd of beautiful buffaloes, after them a herd of longhaired Beautiful horses and at last a long group of the most beautiful and tall people I have ever seen. I feel That I have to follow these people, but then I wake up (sad), I was so upset with this beautiful dream, and got the eye at the dreamcatcher and said thanks, and woke up my wife to tell the story. So Thanks again for showing this beautiful painting.

I know! Yellowstone is one of my favorite targets. I have a good friend called Ryan Burr (mandan/hidatza) his a painter and one of the best graphic artist Iīve ever seen. We did some jewel designs together, and he stayed at my place for 3 month, and one day I will go to visit him, and se all of my favorite places.
Here is one of his paintings on facebook, and if you like it, you can see his art gallery.

The link wouldn't work for me, darn it.

You and your wife would Love Yellowstone :). I live fairly close (about an hours drive), so I go there often. Especially love it in the wintertime when there is hardly anyone else there

We would love Yellowstone so much, and you are lucky to be close to this wonderful place. I saw a fantastic program about Yellowstone. Wow. And to see the buffaloes in the snow must be incredible. Sorry about the Link to Ryan, Iīve send a note for you with another link to one of his paintings outside facebook.

Buffalo are fun to paint with their rich color and shaggy hair. Have you ever done one? I think it would work out pretty well with your colored pencils. I have a shit pot full of photos of buffalo that I have taken the last couple of years - if you want ever want to try one, I will give you a couple photos

Hey that sounds good we've got some local buffalo at our State park that I've got a few photos of but nothing really good enough to draw from... I'll bet the shaggy hair is quite a challenge! No I've never drawn one... yet :D

Would you like a full body - or a close up head photo? You will need to send me your email - whatever I send you I will delete out of my photos and you may consider it yours (no need to credit me or whatever either).

Okay :). I will look and see if I can find you a nice one. Now, remember that I am not a photographer and I don't have one of those cameras with the lens the size of a persons head. But I think adequate enough to where I get good enough shots to draw from :)
