Montana Summer by Earleywine Montana Summer by Earleywine
16 x 20 Oil on Canvas.

Been a few weeks since I did a plein air/landscape, so took a break from the big bear oil I am working on to do this one. Scene is the west side of Paradise Valley, a few miles down the road from me.

Once again, the light is not very good in the house for taking a photo of the painting, so I will try again in the morning when the light is better

very nice scene, hope you guys aren't getting all the smoke we are getting in my part of Idaho. It's sure making it hazy.

Yep. This morning when I woke up I was catching faint whiffs of smoke. So hazy outside that you couldn't hardly see the surrounding mountains

My favorite time of the year too. Waking up to a sunny crisp morning and listening to the meadow larks sing. Love painting the fall colors too

I love how you painted the space, colors and those animals which add some life to this (I guess) calm place ;) This is a lovely piece of art, thanks for sharing! :)

I love the serenity of just looking at wide open landscape. You captured that very well in this painting. This seems like the perfect place for a painting, too; all the colors balance each other out and nothing really dominates. It just looks so natural. Great work. :)

I like it! Not sure exactly where your at, but I was born and raised in Livingston. :-) spent MANY moons down the valley.... if it weren't for the wind, I'd still be there! LOL!!

Thanks :). I spend a lot of time in Yellowstone and in Paradise Valley. Beautiful country and I love spotting wildlife. The scene in this painting is from the gravel road that cuts over the hill to Trail Creek Road

LOL... Divide road I believe. Pretty area back up in there... plenty of wildlife as well. I spent many years down around Mill Creek and Pine creek across the valley. I need to make my annual pilgrimage up to Pine Creek Falls. Fairly certain I missed the Huckleberry season.... rats!

Pine Creek is beautiful. My daughter goes camping with one of her friends at a campsite in the area a lot. And we have driven up to the end of the road at Mill Creek a couple of times.

Mill Creek used to be prettier before the fire... now anything much further than Snowbank is still black and crispy.
